Kerry Theatrics

CONTROVERSY SURROUNDS KERRY CONVENTION FILM: WAR SCENES REENACTED **World Exclusive**A bombshell new book written by the man who took over John Kerry's Swift Boat charges:   Kerry reenacted combat scenes for film while in Vietnam! The footage is at the center of a growing controversy in Boston. The official convention video introducing Kerry is directed by Steven Spielberg protégé James Moll.

I'm sure everyone has heard about this by now.  I heard about it yesterday on Rush's program (12-3 on WMAL out of D.C.), but I felt compelled to give my thoughts on it.

Honestly, I think it's funny! Hardly surprising, a little sad, but still funny.  Is anyone truly shocked by this? I mean honestly, is ANYONE TRULY SHOCKED? In the midst of a convention which has been so carefully monitored, so carefully scripted, so non-spontaneous, is anybody truly surprised that KERRY could have possibly re-enacted scenes, changing things to make himself look more like a hero?

When I watch clips of Kerry and Edwards throwing a football, or patting each other on the back, or whatever, I can't help but think "my goodness, how this looks like footage straight from a movie."  Every time Kerry is on the camera it looks like he is following a script.  It's worse than watching professional wrestling.  Everything is so carefully timed, ' that camera is moving this way, turn your head a smile, John.'  I'm just honestly and truthfully not surprised that this film footage of a heroic John Kerry is scripted like so much of his campaign has been.

Annapolis, Md. (AP) - Plans are underway in Annapolis for an unusual reenactment of the arrival of slaves in America - with 20 white people portraying the slaves and blacks posing as the slave traders. The white volunteers will wear wooden restraints similar to those used during the slave trade and will march to several historic landmarks. It's being planned for September 29th and is being organized by the Lifeline Expedition - a European company that has held similar marches in other countries associated with the slave trade.Annapolis is the first of ten East Coast cities that will stage similar events. Organizers hope the marches will promote racial understanding.City spokesman Jan Hardesty says the group has yet to provide a parade route, a crowd estimate or other details required for a parade permit

I first heard about this horribly ridiculous idea on Chris Core's show which is on during the evenings on WMAL in D.C.  At first, I couldn't help but laugh.  I mean, really...but then, as I started listening more and more, I almost felt sorry for the debilitating stupidity that these people suffer from.  "Organizers hope marches will promote racial understanding?"  Good Lord, they can't be serious, can they?  I mean honestly, promote racial understanding.  I do not understand the mind sets that these people have.  It is just pure craziness.  For any person to think for ONE MINUTE that dragging a bunch of British white folk around in chains and shackles while their black slave holders follow is going to promote "racial understanding" is just beyond me.  If anything, it causes further irritation, discrimination, HATRED.  I am not a racist person.  I'm not, but come on.  Haven't we had enough of this? Haven't we heard enough about the evils of slavery? We all know it was wrong.  We all know it was bad.  We all know that slavery goes against everything we as humans stand for.  We all know it.  Me. You.  Everybody!  To have slavery constantly thrown in my face makes me sick.  I don't understand the reasoning, and I never will.  Please, people of Annapolis, if I volunteer to be one of the white guys being drug around, will you promise me--no, promise the world--that nothing this stupid will ever take place again?  Stop throwing slavery up.  Stop reminding the people of the world every day about how evil it was.  We all know.

My First

This is my first blog, wow.  Thinking about writing on here for the first time, a million things flashed through my head.  There were so many different things I wanted to talk about, mostly, of course, concerning politics and my loathing of John Kerry.  Now, though, as I sit here looking at the blank screen, I am at a loss for words (don't everyone applaud at once, please).

As the title suggests, I guess I will use this just to talk and yap about whatever I want to talk/yap about.  Sometimes I'll yack about school (when it starts), sometimes I'll talk about hockey, sometimes music, sometimes TV, sometimes politics, and sometimes, heck, maybe won't talk about anything specific at all.  If you're here, reading this, I'm glad to have you and I hope that you'll enjoy what you read.  If you're not here, then you're not reading this and I really don't care.  Feel free to comment on this.  If I know you, and you know me, and you have my email address, feel free to email me about it.  I don't know how often I'll update, so check back as often as you can.

Just getting started
